SCHS Logo Explanation 

The bald eagle represents, “Old Abe” an eagle that accompanied Wisconsin’s  Iron Brigade in the Civil War. Eagles are now a common sight in Sauk County especially along the Wisconsin River from December through March. The peace pipe represents our Indian heritage when Sauk County was the home of the Ho Chunk and Sauk Indians. The fish represents our beautiful streams, rivers and lakes – a source of food and recreation. The ear of corn and its bi-products are important elements of Sauk County’s economy. The circus wagon wheel represents the circus heritage which began in Sauk County with the Ringling Brothers and Gollmar Brothers.
