The main objective of group is to gather information about the Plain, Wisconsin area and share it.
One way that we share our gathered data is that we have digitized a lot
of good stuff and made copies on CD-ROMs. Our website describes most of
our holdings. It has thumbnails of over 15,000 photos and documents
that we have digitized. We
also share our gathered data through our bi-monthly newsletter. All of
our newsletters can be found on our website. The newsletters cover a
wide range of topics. Our
bi-monthly meetings are another great source of information. We usually
have a presentation on a topic of general interest. These topics
include history, genealogy and "how to use a computer/technology." We
also have about an hour of "playtime" during which people look at the
neat stuff other people have brought in. Our on-line newsletter
contains information about what happened at our meeting.
The Kraemer Library and Community Center has recently acquired 10 PCs
which we use for hands on training. There are no membership fees and everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. | | | - Reedsburg Library

is a black and white photographer specializing in rural and
environmental landscape. Her book Along the Wisconsin Riverway (UWPress, 1998) highlights
five habitats along the river with particular attention to wild and
settled places in Sauk County. Her cameras have primarily focussed on
southwestern rural Wisconsin for more than thirty years. Views of
homebuilding, marriage and motherhood; the woods, river and prairies
outside my door; events from the Fourth of July annual chicken dinner
to the Cow Chip Throw; the closing and later division of almost 10,000
acres and thousands of structures of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant;
even the ravages wrought by highway projects. All of these describe
this place. She and her family live in a handbuilt cabin in Sauk County
part of each year. www.jillmetcoff.com
